Our Bureau

Caecile de Hoog, who was born in Amsterdam and raised in a musical family, is the driving force behind Muse Translations. For many years she played bassoon in a wind quintet and amateur orchestras, and now sings in two choirs and a vocal ensemble. A court approved translator of English, she has twenty-five years of experience in translating and editing texts that deal with all aspects of classical music.

The opportunity arose in 1996 to take over the running of the Muse Translations bureau – specialising in classical music – which had been founded by the American translator and music theorist John Lydon in the early 1990s.
